Bracknell trio to guest for Blaze

The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze can confirm that Harvey Stead, Josh Martin and Ryan Sutton from the NIHL's Bracknell Bees will guest for them in tonight's pre-season game against Milton Keynes Lightning at Planet Ice, MK (7.45pm).

Mark Denholm, Head of Bees Media has given us a run down on the three players:

Harvey Stead (D) is 22 and has played all his hockey with the exception of a single season at the Hive. He plays a tough game making him incredibly hard to play against. He stood out in defence for the Bees in their Swindon pre-season challenge playing a good offensive defence game with a good eye on finding the first pass while also prepared to dig in and win board battles deep in his own zone.

Josh Martin (F) is the same age as his teammate but plays at the other end of the ice. He spent time learning his hockey both in and out of Bracknell before making his senior debut with the Bees in their inaugural NIHL1 season. He’s smart and alert and works hard in every game and training session.

The final player to get the call-up is Ryan Sutton (F). The former Basingstoke Junior worked his way through the Hampshire development system and into the NIHL2 Buffalo as well as a spell with the Bison before heading to Canada for a year to continue his development. He was a member of the treble-winning Bison last season scoring an impressive 9 times during the campaign and was an easy decision to sign for Doug Sheppard this season in Bracknell.

Bees Head Coach Doug Sheppard commented, “We’d like to thank the Coventry Blaze for this opportunity. I’ve got a great relationship with Danny Stewart and this is a great opportunity for the three players. Not only do we want to have a winning team here in Bracknell but it’s part of our job to offer the best development possible and help players who want to move on. I hope the three learn a lot from this experience.”
