Christmas Extravaganza a great success

The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze celebrated their last game before Christmas in style defeating the Guildford Flames 8-3 at the Skydome Arena.

Off the ice near 2,400 enjoyed a spectacular night of festive fun and games, including the sight of the Blaze team and mascot Scorch wearing their BadlyDrawn Christmas jerseys.

In the first period break, fans were treated to a fantastic performance from Leivers Dance School, and we thank them for joining us.

In the second period intermission, the injured David Broll gave supporters the opportunity to win a ‘Property of Blaze’ Cross Check Clothing tee by firing the tees to the noisiest members of the crowd.

A massive 50/50 prize, a 32” TV and #62 Janne Laakkonen’s BadlyDrawn game-worn jersey amongst other great prizes were taken home by lucky raffle winners and the Blaze players said thank you to everyone in attendance by throwing sweets and chocolate into the stands as snow feel from the ceiling.

Finally, after the game Head Coach Danny Stewart and Assistant Coach spent time in Crosby’s bar, chatting with supporters whilst a large number enjoyed a one-off opportunity to skate with players.

We say a huge thanks to everyone who came along to the Christmas Extravaganza, participated in the games, raffles, Skate with the Blaze and cheered us on to a huge win!

Thanks also to our match sponsor, A-Plan Insurance who presented the man-of-the-match award to our new American netminder C.J. Motte who starred in the game posting a 92.31 save-percentage on his home debut for the club.

We're next in action at the Skydome Arena on 28th December vs. rivals the Nottingham Panthers. It's going to be another huge crowd and sensational atmosphere. It's THE GREATEST SHOW - DON'T MISS IT!
