Ferrara returns on TWO-Year deal

The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are delighted to announce the return of British forward Luke Ferrara on a TWO-YEAR deal.

The 24-year-old, who moved to Coventry last summer from the Sheffield Steelers, has just enjoyed his most productive Elite League season to date, posting 11 goals, 17 assists for 28 points in 48 regular season games, also adding 2 goals and 1 assist in the 6 Challenge Cup fixtures.

Named Best British Player at Blaze's end of season awards show, the two-time Elite League and once Playoff Champion with Sheffield, has been named as part of Team Great Britain’s training camp squad ahead of the World Championships in Budapest.

An associate Captain at under-18 and 20's international level already, the 5'11" right shooter's junior career was spent with his home-town club, the Peterborough Phantoms where in near 300 English Premier League games, he registered almost 240 points, playing a crucial role in the team winning the playoff title in his final two-way season (2014/15).

Head Coach Danny Stewart said, “This is a great start to building our team for next season. Luke came in and exceeded our expectations this year. His production was a big part to our secondary scoring and he played in all situations. He is a very good pro who comes to work every day. He’s a low maintenance guy that buys in. I feel after the ice time he got this year, and with his commitment levels, he will be even better next year and that makes us a stronger team.”

Luke Ferrara commented, “I'm really happy to be back playing in Coventry! I really enjoyed last year and want to build on what we started. I was given an opportunity to play and build confidence and I'll just keep doing my best to get better and better. Already, I can't wait for next season to get started.”
