Lake pursues new opportunity away from Blaze
Despite continuous efforts to retain his services, the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze have been informed by Canadian forward Ben Lake that he has chosen to pursue a new opportunity away from the club.
The 29-year old has spent the past two seasons with the Blaze playing a total of 142 games with 66 goals, 70 assists for 136 points.
Last season, he enjoyed a career year scoring 34 goals and 43 assists for 77 points in 60 Elite League regular season games (second best amongst all players). He also added 4 goals and a single assist in 8 Challenge Cup and playoff games.
The number 9 scooped numerous honours at the end of season awards show including supporters player of the season, coach's player of the season and players' player. Additionally he was named in the league's first-all star team.
His performances with the club earnt him a call-up to the Great Britain national team where he played a big part in GB surviving at the World Championship top-level.
The Blaze thank Ben for his considerable efforts over the past two years and wish him all the very best for the future.
