Pease proud to celebrate Carlson contribution

As most of you will know by now, before Genting Casino Coventry Blaze face-off against the Sheffield Steelers tomorrow night, the club will retire and raise the number 26 jersey of Dan Carlson to the Skydome rafters. Tickets available, HERE.

The number 26 jersey will sit next to the 25 of Adam Calder whose number was retired in December of last year. 'Calds' led the tributes to Dan this week (here) and we have since shared memories and kind words from other former teammates, Rumun Ndur (here), Sylvain Cloutier, Trevor Koenig and Danny Stewart (here).

The leader of these former Blaze champions, Paul Thompson spoke about his "go-to guy" (here) and tributes have flooded in from both Blaze fans (here) and those of the opposition (here).

Genting Casino Coventry Blaze Director of Hockey, James Pease who was also a long-time teammate of Carlson's says he is proud that the club will honour the all-time point leader's contribution to four Elite League Championships, two Challenge Cups, a Knockout Cup and a Playoff title:

"It's amazing to be able to celebrate the success that Dan's had here over the years and the contribution he made to the club. Dan played here in a period where we were pretty dominant in the Elite League and he was the heartbeat of that. To be able to bring him and his family over and celebrate and everything and lift his shirt to the rafters means everything to us as a club."
