Over the 2019/20 season, Johnston will combine his playing duties with study at Coventry University Business School.
Head Coach Danny Stewart said, “Andrew is an exciting player who has led his team in scoring the past two seasons. There was a lot of interest in him, and so we’re really pleased to have got his signature. We again must thank our partnership with Coventry University for helping us attract a player of Andrew’s calibre. He brings us speed up the middle, and production that we are looking to add with our last few signings. He’s a dynamic player who can play in all situations and has great size to go along with it.”
Johnston commented, “I’m very excited to be coming to Coventry to play for the Blaze as well as studying at the University. The league is improving every year with great players signing here as well as Great Britain’s performance at the World Championships. The school package is very important to me and a big draw for me to come to Coventry. Ian Webster has made me feel very comfortable and the relationship they have with the team is invaluable. As a player I like to play in all situations and really thrive on offense. I’m looking forward to a winning season with the Blaze.”
