Weber seeking winning farewell to Big Blue Tent

Head Coach Chuck Weber had a feeling he had not seen the last of the Big Blue Tent as Genting Casino Coventry Blaze prepare to face Elite League leaders Cardiff Devils this evening (7pm face-off).

The BBT has been an unhappy venue for Weber and Blaze since the American arrived at the Skydome in December 2014, claiming two wins from six visits.

This fixture was scheduled to mark the opening of Ice Arena Wales but Devils - who qualified for the Challenge Cup final this week - announced recently the move had been delayed.

It means one last trip to the BBT for Blaze and Weber commented:

"I think I said at the time I would believe it when I see it!

"I know how tough it is to open a new building but we have to go back there for another kick at the can. It is a tough place but we need to embrace the challenge.

"Cardiff are a talented and deep team. They have two players on their third line in [Ryan] Russell and [Tomas] Kurka who have played in the NHL!

"We have had a tough run of games against the top four teams in the league but we now need to find ways to pick up points, especially when we are not expected to."

The game is sold-out tonight so please do not travel unless you have a ticket booked.

Alternatively, you can watch the game via Ice Time TV, here for a price of £6.99.
