Blaze Boost Learning Environment

Led by Tim Smith, Dave Roberts, Tim Ansell and Mark O’Doherty, the Booster Club have raised over £40,000 to help support the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze in a number of ways.

The main source of income is a weekly subscription of just £1 paid by its members. For this, all of those who are subscribed get entered into a monthly draw to win some fantastic prizes.

Just last month, one lucky Booster member won a Blaze season ticket for the 2017/18 season and in the future summer months, others will win for example a rare Wade Belak EIHL All-Star jersey, and a number of Blaze Own and Loan jerseys.

Following a recent meeting with the club, the Booster Club have again come up trumps, this time agreeing to fund three 42-inch television screens that will hang from the ceiling in the centre of the Blaze dressing room for the forthcoming season.

In doing so, the Booster Club will help create an improved learning environment for Head Coach Danny Stewart to carry out video sessions with players, particularly and importantly during period breaks on match night.

Head of Hockey Operations, James Pease said, "The Booster club have been tremendous in their support and this is just another example of how just £1 a week from its members can help make a huge difference to the club. Video is a crucial part of today's game and the importance of this improvement to our dressing room cannot be understated.  I would like to take this opportunity to again thank the Booster Club and its members for their continued support."

Tim Ansell, one of the founding members of Blaze Booster Club said, "We are always looking for innovative ways to give Blaze that little extra advantage. We're really excited about being able to fund this technological advancement in the teams dressing room, but we couldn't do it without the support of our members. Not only do they help us to help the club, but many have won some fantastic prizes. With the clubs support we have given away two season tickets as prizes, various game worn jerseys and sticks, and money can't buy prizes such as dinner with the Head Coach for example."

The Blaze Booster Club is independent of the Coventry Blaze, run by the fans, for the fans.

If you would like to join for the small cost of just £1 a week and be in with a chance of winning one of the great prizes each month then please visit the Booster Club stand by the lockers in the Skydome Arena on a game night.
