Blaze set to welcome back Gothiques d'Amiens

The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze will again welcome French side Gothiques d'Amiens to the Skydome Arena for back-to-back pre-season games over the weekend of Saturday 1st September 2018 (7pm) and Sunday 2nd September (5.15pm).

If the meetings are anything like last pre-season, where a Ben Lake breakaway strike earned Blaze an exciting 5-4 overtime victory, these games are not to be missed!

The Ligue Magnus team are coming off the back off a strong season with a 4th placed regular season finish and appearance in the semi-finals of the playoffs, going down to the eventual champions Rouen.

Blaze Managing Director, Mike Cowley said: “Amiens were fantastic guests last September and gave us a terrific challenge. Although a pre-season game, it was an extremely competitive and hard-fought encounter and we expect nothing different this year. We’re also pleased that we’ve been able to get them to stay in Coventry for back-to-back matches. It’ll be a great way for us and our fans to welcome hockey back to the Skydome.”

Gothiques d'Amiens Head Coach & General Manager, Mario Richer commented: "The Amiens Gothiques team will be pleased to play back-to-back pre-season games against the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze. The Gothiques players' have been selected under specific criterias; relentless, competitive and fast-paced. These two games will be an excellent challenge for both teams. We can't wait to "Rock the Skydome".

A special deal will be offered to fans purchasing tickets for both Amiens games. Details about this, and the bolt-on packages for season ticket holders will follow in due course.
