Congratulations to Ashley Tait

The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze would like to congratulate British forward Ashley Tait on becoming the first player to reach 700 points in Elite League competition.

The 41-year-old, registered an assist on Blaze’s opening goal against the Nottingham Panthers on the 29th December 2016, to reach the impressive milestone.

Tait, who is the all-time appearance leader for Team GB is in his ninth season with the Blaze, having previously captained the club to eight major trophies.

In between his two spells with Coventry, the current assistant coach of the Blaze also spent five successful years amassing Elite League points, two league titles and two playoff championships with the Sheffield Steelers.

Ash is only the second player after Adam Calder to score more than 200 goals for Coventry, his most famous perhaps coming in overtime to win the 2004/05 Elite League Grandslam.

He also scored in the victorious playoff final of 2015 where Blaze were to lift the trophy for the second time.

We thank Ash for his continued commitment to the club and congratulate him on his achievement.
