Preview: Blaze vs. Storm

Genting Casino Coventry Blaze will round off their 2015/16 Elite League campaign this evening as the Manchester Storm visit the Skydome Arena (5.15pm).

With a playoff place secured and 8th seed confirmed, Blaze are looking to gain some momentum heading into the playoff quarter finals next weekend against either Sheffield Steelers or the Cardiff Devils.

Coventry too want to set the record straight against a team who have had their number throughout the current season. Tonight will be the sixth meeting, with Manchester having won all of the previous five. The last time the teams met was in December, when Manchester edged out the Blaze 2-1 at the Altrincham Ice Dome in the Elite League. The last meeting between the teams in Coventry was in November when the Storm won 5-3 at the Skydome Arena.

"They are a tough team, they play a wide-open game and throw a lot of guys forward.

"We want to go into the play-offs on a high but we also need to play the right way." - Head Coach, Chuck Weber

Carl Lauzon is Coventry's highest point scorer in EIHL competition games against Manchester with 5 (1+4). Your one to watch tonight though is Captain Ashley Tait who has two goals against the Storm this season and needs just one more goal to register 250 career goals in EIHL competitions (Coventry & Sheffield) and with that goal he would also become the second player after Adam Calder (257) to score 200 career goals for Coventry.
